You seem like a smart and thoughtful young man. What bothered me is that you used the example of unisex public bathrooms to dismiss women’s concerns about sharing public restrooms with males. That’s a bit sexist and lacking in empathy (which will NOT help the Dems in 2026).
I do not agree with keeping Ms. McBride out of the women’s restroom in the Capitol building, but since she has her own bathroom, and since there are unisex bathrooms in the capitol, she’s right not to make a fuss. Good for her. Move on.
Nice piece again Lax. The chaos isn't about unisex bathrooms. It's about women's bathrooms. Unisex bathrooms that I've seen throughout our country are usually single occupant only so who can have an issue with that. For what it's worth, I've heard about issues like this in the work place for years. A similar issue came up in a JP Morgan area I'm familiar with years ago. Women at JP Morgan did not feel comfortable with a biological man, who identified as a woman, using their bathroom. They had no problem working with the person and treating the person with respect as a co-worker. However, they drew the line on the bathroom issue and a separate bathroom was created for the man who had transitioned to being a woman. BTW: Most people I know have no problem with transgender people. The issue goes too far though when transgender men to women are allowed to compete as a female in women's sports. Yes; it doesn't impact many, but it is grossly unfair to biologically born women. Lia Thomas (the U Penn swimmer), boys who were aloud to compete as girls in CT track & field, recent volleyball controversy at San Jose State, etc. To quote; Dave Chapelle >. If LeBron James decided to be a woman and competed in the WNBA, he would probably score 840 pts in his first game. He then goes on to say you wouldn't have a WNBA if we were all equal. That is where progressive Democrats have no common sense.
Laz, I appreciate the calm approach, and I certainly would be happy if Dems got down to plain old business. I do agree there's a lot of showmanship going on here, but I also see that McBride is perfectly capable of stretching logic in ways that have poisoned the culture. I watched one video with the representative arguing something like, "well, some women are taller than others and that gives them an advantage, so maybe basketball should be segregated by height rather than sex" which is pure sophistry/gaslighting. There's a reason we have separate bathrooms/locker rooms and sports competitions and it's not because some people wear dresses and others don't.
And/but I also have experience with mixed bathrooms. At Vassar, where I went to college, all the dorm bathrooms were functionally co-ed by tradition, and there were no problems that I recall, though it was very strange for me as a young man who never had sisters to be sitting in a toilet stall next to a girl. But that was a rarefied environment, to say the least.
That having been said, I could imagine a world where bathrooms are not segregated by sex, but that's not the world we live in, mostly. If that's what people want, they should advocate for it, and I might even support it. But as long as most of the population expects the women's room not to have male members in it, so to speak, that should be respected. If we all agree that the whole sex separation thing is antiquated, that's a whole 'nother thing.
I’m not using Clinton to strengthen my argument. As a political force in the US, she’s dated and unsuccessful — I can agree that it’s time to move on. I’m merely crediting her one line of my logic.
Missing from this piece is the fact that the bathroom issue is a camel's nose under the tent. If you're not already familiar with it, I suggest you peruse the publication Reduxx. Trans-identified men--including those convicted of violent and sexual offenses--are now housed in women's prisons in the US, Canada, and the UK. Young women are missing out on opportunities in school sports at the high school and college level (see Riley Gaines, and the ongoing lawsuit in CT brought by high school runners Selina Soule and Chelsea Mitchell). States are serving as "sanctuary states" where one parent in a divorced couple can bring his or her child to that state to pursue what is grotesquely called "gender-affirming care" over the objection of the other parent (see the Jeff Younger case).
Back to the politics of this issue, which your piece focuses on. Many people want to "be kind" out of the mistaken belief that identifying as trans is the same as being gay. It is not. Will McBride expect his colleagues to refer to him as "her?" And if they refuse--because he is a man--what will be the repercussions? Members of the House refer to each other as "the gentleman/woman from [name of state]. What if someone refuses to address McBride as "the gentlewoman from Delaware? When people want to record the breakdown of Congress by sex, will McBride be counted as a man or a woman? That may sound trivial, but if the government considers a man to be a woman, then all reality falls by the way side.
He obviously does care, and can't shut up about it, which is why the Dems will continue losing. Keep up the cope though, I prefer that your cult refuses to learn any lessons until its political influence dwindles to nothing.
The link you are citing is from 8 years ago — the same year that our Vice President-elect referred to his future boss as “America’s Hitler.” I prefer to cite sources that are as relevant as possible. People and opinions can change.
So this dude has been spying on women in their bathrooms for eight years and bragging about it publicly on Twitter, but as soon as someone called him out on it he said he would stop? Or… sorry, what’s the factual claim you’re making here that supports your case? When did this guy stop using the women’s restroom?
If one is born with a spout, it’s a boy, a male, a manchild no delusional fragment of the imagination can or will ever change that beginning @ birth. To be of such a belief is as cocked up as believing that Roosters lay eggs. So good luck waiting for your scrambled eggs, on that one.

“Sits privy”…I love it!
Using a Hillary clip is not a good look . Move beyond this vindictive felon.
